Artist Sandra martin has a diversified background in fine arts and graphic design. She exhibits a variety of skills and techniques utilizing oils, acrylic, gouache, and watercolor, as well as photography.

Following independent studies in Paris and New York at the Art Students' League, Sandra received her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

In 1972 she moved to Rockport, Massachusetts where she studied painting privately. While in Rockport, she owned and operated the Dream Merchant Gallery where she worked in oils, acrylics, and batik.

Sandra has exhibited her work throughout New England and the East Coast. She completed commissioned paintings for Di-Star Diamonds of Boston and Anchor USA Division of Marblehead. She collaborated with three other artists in the execution of several monumental murals at Suffolk Downs in Revere, Massachusetts. Touchstone Pictures selected one of her Boston Skyline watercolors for a set decoration.

In 1990, Sandra received recognition for illustrating the fourteen movements of "Carnival of Animals" by Saint-Saens. Images of the paintings were projected on large screens, while the composition was played by the Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra.

Since moving to Wolfeboro, NH, Sandra has worked with the Wolfeboro Historical Society and Q. David Bowers, taking over 1800 black and white photographs for "The History of Wolfeboro, NH." In 1996 Sandra released a limited edition print entitled "Port of Wolfeboro" depicting the MS Mount Washington at the town docks.

Some of Sandra's newest paintings, including scenes around the Lakes Region, can be viewed at the Blue Shutter Gallery on Lehner Street in Wolfeboro and at Rowland's Gallery on Main Street in Concord. Sandra Martin opened her own gallery on Main Street in Wolfeboro in the summer of 2009.
